The Labour Court recommended a two-year pay agreement and changes to annual leave and health insurance for about 30 general operatives at Edenderry Power Ltd. The recommendation was dated 6 March 2024. SIPTU had sought a 10% pay rise over two years and restoration of leave and health cover. The company said new recruits had received 22 days’ leave since 2016 and its health scheme had closed to new members in 2020. The Court recommended pay rises of 4% from 1 April 2023, 4.25% from 1 January 2024 and 1% from 1 January 2025, with the agreement ending on 31 March 2025. It also recommended 25 days’ leave and health insurance for seven staff members, subject to union acceptance, and an updated handbook showing 22 days as the standard leave entitlement.
