The Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) found Radoslaw Saniewski’s minimum-notice complaint well founded and directed Cribbin Family Butchers Limited to pay him an additional four weeks’ pay in lieu of notice. In a decision dated 17 January 2024, it also allowed his redundancy appeal, subject to his earlier employment being insurable for that purpose. Saniewski had already received redundancy payment for service from 15 January 2015 to 19 November 2022. The WRC said he was entitled to statutory redundancy for service from 22 February 2006 to 15 January 2015, calculated using a gross weekly wage of €600, capped under the Redundancy Payments Acts. His working-time complaint was withdrawn at the hearing.
