The Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) found Dalia Aidzeulite-Matijosiene’s minimum-notice complaint well founded and directed Cribbin Family Butchers Limited to pay her an additional four weeks’ pay in lieu of notice. In a decision dated 17 January 2024, it also allowed her redundancy appeal, subject to her earlier employment being insurable for that purpose. Aidzeulite-Matijosiene had already received redundancy payment for service from 15 January 2015 to 19 November 2022. The WRC said she was entitled to statutory redundancy for service from 31 May 2005 to 15 January 2015, calculated using a gross weekly wage of €275. The decision’s narrative gives a different employment start date, 31 May 2004. Her working-time complaint was withdrawn at the hearing.
