The Workplace Relations Commission allowed Marek Swiniarski’s redundancy appeal and ordered Cribbin Family Butchers Limited (in liquidation) to pay him an additional four weeks’ pay in lieu of notice. The decision was dated 17 January 2024. Swiniarski had received four weeks’ notice pay, while the WRC found his more than 15 years’ service entitled him to eight weeks in total. It also granted statutory redundancy for service from 13 February 2003 to 15 January 2015, subject to insurable employment. The €600 gross weekly wage was the capped figure used for that calculation. His working-time complaint was withdrawn.
