The Workplace Relations Commission ordered Thick Skin Restaurants Limited Cinnamon Ballsbridge to pay Shyam Luchun €570 for unpaid wages and awarded him €6,080 for an annual leave complaint and €3,040 for unpaid public holidays in a decision dated 27 September 2023. Luchun said break times were recorded as longer than those taken, leaving him short of wages, and that he had not received his full annual leave entitlement or pay for three public holidays. The respondent did not attend the hearing. The adjudication officer found that wages were short by at least two hours a week, totalling 30 hours, and that Luchun had not been paid his full annual leave or public holiday entitlements. All three complaints were well founded.
