The Workplace Relations Commission found Cavan And Monaghan Hospital discriminated against employee Robyn Poole by failing to provide a reasonable occupational health review before her emergency department rotation. It ordered the hospital to pay €5,000 for disability discrimination and failure to provide reasonable accommodation. The decision was dated 27 February 2025.
The WRC also upheld Poole’s complaint that sick pay had been withheld and ordered €1,076.50 compensation. The hospital said outstanding sick leave had been paid and sought to withdraw both complaints, but the Commission found the wages complaint was undisputed and well founded.
