A Workplace Relations Commission decision found Sinead Walsh entitled to statutory redundancy pay and awarded her €1,350 for accrued annual leave and €72 for a public holiday. The decision was dated 31 August 2023. Walsh worked as manager of Hair and Beauty by Helen from May 2019 until the salon closed in November 2022. The WRC also found her minimum-notice complaint not well founded, ruling that she had received the required two weeks’ notice. Complaints about the employer’s ability to pay redundancy and two duplicate holiday-pay claims were withdrawn.
