WRC awards Carlos Gomes three separate payments in mixed employment ruling

The Workplace Relations Commission awarded Carlos Gomes €2,283 for a failure to provide written employment terms, €761 over working-hours information for mobile transport workers, and €761 for outstanding annual leave. The decision was dated 25 April 2025. Gomes, an HGV driver, said he had not received a terms statement and was owed leave pay when his employment ended. Marsuf Limited, trading as BR Transport Limited, said it issued a statement that he did not sign and that he had taken enough leave. The WRC found the respondent had not shown it communicated the statement, had not demonstrated compliance with the transport information rules, and had failed to keep accurate leave records. Two duplicate complaints were not well-founded.
