WRC finds Lisa Gregg entitled to statutory redundancy pay

The Workplace Relations Commission found Lisa Gregg’s redundancy complaint against Joe Guinan And Son Limited well founded. The decision, dated 10 October 2023, says she is entitled to a redundancy payment, subject to her having been in insurable employment during the relevant period. Gregg said the public house where she worked closed after seven years of employment. The employer did not attend the hearing, but the WRC was satisfied it had been notified. The adjudication officer found Gregg had worked for the company from August 2016 until her employment ended by reason of redundancy in September 2022. The decision gives gross weekly pay of €560 as the basis for calculating the payment.
