The Workplace Relations Commission awarded David Quinn €1,420.44 after finding his complaint about not receiving a written employment statement well founded. In a decision dated 10 October 2023, it also found he was entitled to a redundancy lump sum, subject to his having been in insurable employment during the relevant period. Quinn said he requested a contract in 2019 but received none. His employer, Lisheens House Drop-In Center Company Limited by Guarantee, accepted that he had not received a redundancy payment and cited financial difficulties. The redundancy calculation was based on employment from 14 November 2019 to 24 March 2023 and gross weekly pay of €710.22. The WRC found him entitled to the lump sum under the Redundancy Payments Acts; the decision does not state its amount.
