The Workplace Relations Commission awarded employee Timea Benczik €1,000 for not receiving a full written statement of her employment terms and €1,000 after her agreed hours were reduced without her agreement. The decision, dated 22 August 2023, also ordered Graclil Ltd to issue a corrected statement confirming 40 weekly hours and other specified terms within four weeks. Benczik said she had agreed to work 40 hours a week, but her hours were cut in March 2023. The officer found the employer's claim that it had provided written terms dubious, pointing to the unsigned and undated document and its inconsistency with an email referring to 40 hours. The duplicate statement complaint required no further decision; a core-terms complaint was partly well founded with no compensation; and the Sunday-premium complaint was withdrawn after settlement.
