WRC does not uphold Cecilia Fox’s redundancy appeal

The Workplace Relations Commission did not uphold Cecilia Fox’s appeal against AJPC Retail Limited T/A Costcutter’s decision not to pay her statutory redundancy. The adjudication officer found that her employment transferred to a successor employer without a break in service, so the respondent was not liable for redundancy. The decision was dated 1 March 2024. It found that the successor employer took over the same core business at the premises and that Fox’s previous service transferred with her.
