The Workplace Relations Commission ordered Tegal Limited t/a Ace-security to pay Garry O'Sullivan €652.40 after finding it failed to provide him with written terms of employment. The decision was dated 30 March 2023. The company accepted that O'Sullivan did not receive a contract. It said written contracts were normally issued after verbal terms were agreed, but it did not meet him before his employment ended in January 2022. O'Sullivan said he had requested written terms four times. The WRC calculated the compensation as four weeks' pay, based on an average 14-hour working week at €11.65 an hour. Four duplicate complaints were withdrawn at the hearing.
