The Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) awarded pharmacist Tom Lacey €840 after finding that Doreen O’Donoghue trading as Banks Pharmacy failed to provide written employment terms on time. The decision was dated 7 August 2024. Lacey said he had repeatedly requested written terms from April 2022; O’Donoghue said she issued a contract in January 2023 and accepted that it was late. The WRC found the delay caused Lacey stress and awarded one week’s pay. It found insufficient evidence that the respondent’s conduct met the legal threshold for penalisation.
