The Workplace Relations Commission found Jana Gogova’s discrimination complaint against the Residential Tenancies Board was not well founded because she did not establish reasonable cause for missing the notification deadline. The decision was dated 3 February 2023.
Gogova alleged discrimination on gender, family status, race and housing assistance payment grounds in connection with the RTB’s decision upholding a notice to end her tenancy. The WRC refused to extend the time limit for notifying the RTB and declined to waive it altogether, finding the circumstances were not exceptional. The complaint was brought outside the time limit, so the merits were not decided.
