The Workplace Relations Commission awarded Deirdre Kerin €520 after finding her employer, St Johns Girls And Boys Infants School After School Club, had failed to provide a written statement of employment terms. The decision was dated 6 December 2022. Kerin’s employer accepted it had not provided the statement and conceded that complaint. A second complaint about terms was not well founded because the statement issue had already been decided. The WRC also found her redundancy complaint not well founded: Kerin’s service had broken between September 2013 and January 2015, so that period could not count towards her redundancy payment. Three other complaints were withdrawn at the hearing.
