WRC recommends against childcare worker’s claim for further lay-off pay

The WRC recommended against a childcare worker’s claim for further lay-off pay from a school. The recommendation was dated 6 December 2022. The worker said she had no contract providing for lay-off and received no further payments after a €3,005.50 payment in July 2021. The school said the earlier payment settled the union’s claim and did not cover the later period. The officer recorded the competing positions and said she was unable to make a recommendation in the worker’s favour.
