The Workplace Relations Commission found five complaints by John Walsh against Roadbridge Ltd not well founded, after ruling that his redundancy benefit dispute had already been decided in a separate case. The decision, dated 30 August 2023, concerned Walsh’s redundancy after he moved from work in Ireland to the UK. He said he had been assured his Irish service would count towards his entitlement, but his UK statutory benefit was calculated without it. The adjudicator said the complaints, brought under the Terms of Employment (Information) Act and transfer of undertakings rules, concerned a redundancy benefit shortfall rather than breaches of those laws. Walsh had already brought a redundancy claim on the same facts, which had been heard and determined. The respondent did not attend the hearing.
