The Workplace Relations Commission ordered Green Brick Property Services Ltd to pay Richard Wykes €1,025.53 in net compensation after finding that wages due to him were unlawfully withheld. The decision, dated 4 January 2023, concerned two weeks of work in February 2022.
Wykes said he worked 45 hours in one week and 40 in the next at €13.50 an hour. The WRC found his wages were due and unpaid, supported in part by an email from the company acknowledging outstanding pay. The company did not attend the hearing or present evidence to counter his claim.
