The Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) said it had no jurisdiction to hear Warren Dolan’s complaint against Joe Duffys BMW over alleged underpayment. It found the complaint was not well founded because Dolan had not first requested a statement of his average hourly rate of pay, as required by law; the merits were not decided. Dolan said he was paid €600 a month for a 40-hour week as an apprentice before his Solas registration in September 2020, and that he should have received €9.80 an hour. The WRC decision was dated 28 October 2022. It said Dolan could re-enter the complaint after complying with the statement requirement, subject to relevant time limits.
