The Workplace Relations Commission found Sandra Blakeney’s redundancy pay claim against Verve Marketing Limited was not well founded. The decision was dated 11 April 2023. Her representative argued that she had met the legal requirements for the request, even though she did not need to be unemployed to qualify. The WRC found that Blakeney had started work with another employer in September 2020 and was still working there when she submitted the RP9 in December 2021. It concluded she was not on layoff or available for work with Verve at that time, and the claim failed.
