The Workplace Relations Commission found Trevor Guilfoyle’s pay complaint against Bluestream Waste Water Services was not well founded. The decision was dated 3 October 2022. Guilfoyle said he had been promised €19.50 an hour for other work while waiting for a tanker and should have received the €21.50 rate paid to some colleagues. The company said the agreed tanker rate was €18.50 an hour and the colleagues paid €21.50 were more experienced. The adjudication officer accepted the company’s evidence that it had not heard of the claimed €19.50 agreement and found the higher-paid colleagues were more experienced. Guilfoyle’s pay complaint failed. Guilfoyle withdrew two other complaints. The decision also records that a complaint about breaks during tanker training failed, but its reference is inconsistent with the complaint table, which lists that reference as a pay complaint and gives a separate reference for the breaks complaint.
WRC rejects Trevor Guilfoyle pay complaint; two others withdrawn
