The WRC found an employee’s complaints about maternity leave and alleged discrimination were not well founded. The decision was dated 7 February 2024. She said her employer repeatedly contacted her during maternity leave to attend disciplinary interviews and threatened action if she did not attend. The employer said the proposed interviews were cancelled and she was told she would not have to take part until after her leave. The WRC found she received her maternity leave in full, was not required to attend an interview before 13 October 2021 and returned to her pre-pregnancy duties. It also found she had not established a case of discrimination on the grounds of gender, victimisation or family status.
