The Workplace Relations Commission found Ruth Murray’s constructive-dismissal complaint against Campbells Catering Ltd t/a Aramark was not well-founded. The decision, dated 15 March 2024, concerned her resignation after a dispute over pay and her role in a Newbridge deli. Murray said she had been appointed deli manager but was paid €12 an hour at the team leader rate, and that her request for a rise was refused. The respondent said she was a deli team leader, there was no fixed hourly rate for the role and a rise would have been outside the usual review cycle. Adjudication officer Bríd Deering found Murray had not shown that her resignation was involuntary or that the company’s conduct justified it. She also found that Murray acted unreasonably by not using the company’s grievance procedure before resigning.
