The Workplace Relations Commission found against kitchen porter Andrei Bernea on nine complaints against One Way Street Limited after he did not attend a resumed hearing to give evidence. The decision was dated 13 March 2024. The complaints concerned employment terms, working time, wages, discrimination and unfair dismissal. Bernea had worked for the company from January 2019 until December 2020, earning €404 a week. The respondent attended the resumed hearing but gave no evidence. Under the applicable rule for non-attendance, the ending was procedural and the merits were not decided.
