WRC declines Noeleen Dwyer’s late redundancy claim

The Workplace Relations Commission declined to hear Noeleen Dwyer’s statutory redundancy claim against Mm Business Management Ltd because it was filed outside the time limit. The decision was dated 13 March 2024, and the merits were not decided. Dwyer said her employment ended on 30 August 2019 and that she had not received her redundancy payment. She referred the claim to the WRC on 24 March 2021. The adjudication officer found no reasonable cause for the delay and ruled the WRC had no jurisdiction to decide the claim. A second complaint was withdrawn at the hearing.
