The WRC found that Darius Vilkanauskas was not unfairly dismissed after selection for redundancy and rejected his complaints about race discrimination, employment information and mobile transport rules. Its decision was dated 26 May 2022. Vilkanauskas, an HGV fuel driver, said less senior retail drivers were retained and that his nationality affected his selection. Reynolds Logistics said an 80% fall in aviation work required redundancies and it used last in, first out selection. The officer found it reasonable to limit selection to aviation drivers because the downturn affected that contract and the work arrangements differed from retail. The officer also found no less favourable treatment on race grounds and accepted that the required employment and driver information had been provided.
WRC rejects Darius Vilkanauskas’s four complaints against Reynolds Logistics
