The Workplace Relations Commission found Pádraig McMahon’s complaints about unpaid wages and a change to his employment terms were not well founded. The decision was dated 11 January 2023. McMahon said he had not received his full wages or sick pay during an illness and that he had not been notified of a change to his job code. The respondent, Opentext, denied both complaints and said salary was determined individually and the job code was not part of his contract. The WRC found McMahon had not identified the amount or specific unlawful deduction he claimed. It also found the contract did not refer to job codes, so a change to the code was not covered by the written-notification requirement.
