The Workplace Relations Commission ordered BioObservation Systems Limited to pay €19,713.45 in compensation to senior technology manager Abhijeet Khopade for unpaid wages.
The decision, dated 11 January 2023, found the Payment of Wages Act complaint well founded. Khopade’s annual gross salary was €66,000, and he claimed wages due within the period covered by his complaint. The company disputed that the wages were owed and said it had paid amounts due in 2019 and 2020.
The adjudication officer found that payments made intermittently in late 2019 and 2020 related to historical arrears, rather than wages accruing during the claim period. The officer found Khopade entitled to recover €19,713.45 for that period.
