Noel Flood was awarded €5,979.20 after the Workplace Relations Commission found his complaint about his written terms of employment well founded. The WRC decision, dated 15 December 2023, concerned his work as a film-production rigger for Metropolitan Films International Limited. The adjudication officer found that the purported contract gave the wrong employer name and address, and an incorrect start date. The compensation was equivalent to four weeks’ pay. Flood’s separate complaint seeking wages during lay-off was not well founded. The WRC found there was an implied agreement for lay-off and that wages were not payable while he did no work. His complaint under working-time law was withdrawn.
