The Labour Court has upheld a decision that Eve Doherty’s complaint about changes to her employment terms was not well founded. The Court’s decision was dated 23 November 2023. Doherty said she had not been notified of changes involving pay, gifts and hospitality guidance, and a fraud and e-Crime course. The respondent, the Department Of Justice An Garda Siochana, argued that no relevant change had been identified during the period covered by the complaint. The Court found that the only changes in that period were pay increases arising from a collective agreement. Those increases were excluded from the Act’s notification requirement, so the Court found no breach and the appeal failed.
