The Labour Court has dismissed Amcor Flexibles’ appeal and upheld a €1,000 award to Ann Britton after finding the company’s sick-pay scheme did not provide more favourable benefits overall than statutory sick pay. The decision was signed on 4 November 2025.
Britton said she received no pay for a January 2024 absence because she had not completed the 12 months’ service required by the company scheme, which also had a three-day waiting period. The company argued its scheme was more favourable overall and said it offered revised terms retrospectively, which Britton declined.
