The Labour Court overturned an adjudication officer’s decision and found Jack Brennan entitled to statutory redundancy pay. The Court’s decision was dated 15 December 2023. Brennan, an apprentice plumber employed by Lmc Mep Limited (In Liquidation), appealed after his claim was found not well founded. The Court accepted that he had been continuously employed from 28 September 2020 until his job ended on 29 November 2022, and that he had the required service for redundancy pay. Brennan is entitled to a payment for that service period, calculated using a weekly pay rate of €720.72. The Court set aside the adjudicator’s decision.
