The Labour Court varied the adjudication officer’s decision and found Zydrunas Rimas entitled to a statutory redundancy payment. Its determination was dated 30 August 2019. Rimas said his service continued when his employment transferred from Jack Ennis Contracts to Coennis Construction And Services Limited in August 2016. The Court found his service continuous from 19 April 2010 and added four weeks’ statutory notice, setting his deemed redundancy date as 7 December 2018. It said the payment should be calculated using gross weekly pay of €883.99. The company was not represented at the appeal hearing.
