The Labour Court rejected Danijel Jancikic’s appeal over an unpaid €1,600 bonus, affirming the decision that his Payment of Wages Act complaint was not well founded. The determination was dated 5 September 2023. Jancikic said the bonus was due on 30 June 2022 and that he had agreed to use outstanding annual leave to extend his employment to that date. Tifco Limited said the scheme required him to remain employed on 30 June and denied agreeing to extend his employment. The Court found his employment had ended by 23 June and he had no entitlement to the bonus. As nothing was due on the bonus date, the Court found no deduction had been made.
