The Labour Court upheld the Adjudication Officer’s decision rejecting Mr Andrzej Kula’s Payment of Wages Act complaint against First Up SLU, trading as Master Stonemasons. The determination was signed on 26 May 2022. Kula claimed overtime for driving colleagues to work sites and a discontinued €50 weekly payment for additional duties. The Court found the travel was an informal arrangement and he was not working for the employer while travelling, so the overtime element was not well founded. It found the weekly-payment element was out of time; the merits were not decided.
