The Labour Court upheld the decision rejecting Mr Andrzej Kula’s Payment of Wages complaint against First Up SLU, trading as Master Stonemasons. The determination was signed on 26 May 2022. Kula said he had been paid €16.90 an hour instead of the construction-sector rates of €17.50 and €17.97, and claimed a shortfall of €1,993.92. The employer said he was paid the correct rate for the hours on his timesheets. After reviewing payslips for the period from 29 February to 28 August 2020, the Court found he had received the correct statutory rate for the hours cited. It found the complaint was not well founded.
