The Labour Court set aside in full an Adjudication Officer’s recommendation in a grievance dispute involving Limerick City & County Council and a worker. It said the parties should reengage under the council’s Grievance Procedure to complete the worker’s appeal. The dispute followed the worker’s promotion to supervisor in October 2020. He said the council withdrew overtime and acting-up opportunities without telling him beforehand, causing financial loss. His appeal against a formal grievance decision had not been heard while he pursued related claims at the WRC. The Labour Court’s decision was dated 1 July 2025.
