The Labour Court recommended that Sennheiser increase its proposed redundancy package to seven weeks’ salary per year of service, inclusive of statutory entitlement, with no cap on the lump sum, plus a gratuity of €127 per year of service. The recommendation was signed on 13 September 2018. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought eight weeks’ salary per year of service, inclusive of statutory entitlement, for workers affected by restructuring at Sennheiser’s Tullamore plant. The company cited difficult trading conditions and said it could not afford the union’s demand. The Court also recommended that the other concessions in the employer’s proposal apply.
