The Labour Court rejected a worker’s appeal over her pay scale after promotion at the Health Service Executive, agreeing that the rules in force at the time had been correctly applied. The worker, represented by Forsa Trade Union, said more than four years acting in a higher-grade post should have counted towards her long-service increment. The Court said the 2010 acting-up policy did not cover long-service increments and took effect immediately, while a 2009 circular cited by the union applied in a different context. Its recommendation was signed on 14 September 2018.
