The Labour Court recommended further conciliation on the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union’s claim for relocation terms for Dulux Paints Ireland sales staff. The recommendation was signed on 11 April 2008. The union sought the package agreed for workers based at the former Crumlin premises, which included €2,000 per worker and an additional day of annual leave. It said sales staff faced longer journeys to the new premises in Tallaght. Dulux Paints Ireland argued that sales staff were not office-based, did not regularly attend the office and suffered no financial loss because they had company cars and expenses reimbursed. The Court recommended that the union’s claim be discussed further at conciliation, with the parties seeking the earliest possible date for a resumed conference.
