The Labour Court did not recommend concessions on Mandate’s claims over Good Friday trading at Tesco Ireland (Sligo), and recommended that the union cooperate with trading on the company’s terms. The recommendation was dated 17 July 2000. Mandate had sought premium pay and time off or payment in lieu, a goodwill contribution to the staff social fund and paid release for religious ceremonies. The Court found the 1996 agreement covered Good Friday trading and noted that work would be voluntary.
