The Labour Court recommended that Jetwash Limited reduce standard working hours to 39 a week after finding they exceeded 40. The recommendation, dated 17 July 2000, also called for the parties to use a dispute-resolution process to address the other claims. The Technical, Engineering And Electrical Union had raised pay, national agreements, paid tea breaks, sick pay and pension provision. The Court recommended that the parties cooperate in using the Code of Practice on Voluntary Dispute Resolution and jointly ask the Labour Relations Commission to begin the process.
