The Labour Court recommended that Services Industrial Professional Technical Union accept the introduction of Apple Computer Limited’s Automated Time Management System, with clocking in and out only at the start and end of shifts. The recommendation was dated 23 June 1997. The Court also recommended that the parties agree where to locate the machines and create a method for excusing infringements. It recommended no further extension of the system and one extra day’s holiday, worth eight hours, for employees in 1997 in recognition of their co-operation.
