Labour Court recommends £500 per driver for Kiltoghert tanker drivers

In 1997, the Labour Court recommended that Kiltoghert Co-Operative Agricultural And Dairy Society Limited increase its offer to six tanker drivers to £500 net per driver for 1996. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union had sought £900 net per driver, saying their additional duties were similar to those performed by drivers at another co-operative. The Society said the drivers’ duties had changed only slightly and that its smaller scale, higher collection costs and competitive pressures made the claim unaffordable. The Court issued its recommendation on 5 June 1997.
