In 1997, the Labour Court recommended that Hunter's Pharmacy provide a reference for a part-time counter assistant dismissed after a dispute with her supervisor. The employer said she had resisted supervision and behaved abusively; the worker said the supervisor had acted in a domineering manner and that she was dismissed shortly after being told to apologise. The Court noted that the employer had been very satisfied with her work before her dismissal and recommended a reference reflecting that. It issued its recommendation on 4 June 1997.
