Labour Court recommends talks on pay structure for Limerick pilots

In 1994, the Labour Court recommended talks between the Limerick Harbour Commissioners and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union over pay arrangements for nine pilots in the Limerick Pilotage District. The union sought PESP increases. The Commissioners argued the pilots were self-employed and had no wage structure for applying the increases, while the parties continued to disagree over future pay arrangements. The Court asked the parties to consider either of two Review Body proposals and complete discussions by 31 March 1995. The recommendation was signed on 9 December 1994.
