In 1994, the Labour Court issued recommendations on disputes between Irish Cement Limited and Services Industrial Professional Technical Union over holiday homes, worker grading, Foynes compensation, contractors, a PESP claim for retired workers, storemen driving and diesel filling. The Court recommended £350 each for seven Foynes claimants, rejected an upgrade claim for all yard workers while backing an offer to upgrade one worker, and said the retired workers' claim for a 3% increase could not be recommended because the settlement did not include retrospection. It also recommended acceptance of the holiday-home offer, discussions on contractor procedures and temporary recruitment, and further local talks on storemen driving and drivers filling their own diesel. The recommendation was signed on 1 December 1994.
