In 1994, the Labour Court rejected the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union’s claim for an information technology allowance for two workers at the National Roads Authority. The recommendation was signed on 13 October 1994. The union said the workers’ grades and duties were comparable to civil service posts eligible for the allowance. The Authority argued it was a retention payment, the relevant skills were not at risk and its grading structure was not comparable. The Court found no grounds to concede the claim.
