In 1994, the Labour Court rejected the Transport Salaried Staffs' Association’s claim against Bus Eireann for transport or taxi-fare refunds for eight clerical staff at Busaras. The recommendation was signed on 13 October 1994. The staff were rostered to start at 8.30am on Sundays, when the union said suitable public transport was unavailable. Bus Eireann said travel costs were employees’ responsibility and that it could allow duty exchanges where feasible. The Court found no grounds to concede the claim.
